Tue, 31 March Training Details: Adult First Aid Examination

Dear parents and cadets

Please take note of the following details regarding Tue, 31 March Training.

 Adult First Aid Examination

Date:                     31 March 2015 (Tuesday)

Time:                     2:30 – 6:30 pm (Reporting 2:15pm)

Venue:                 Bedok View Sec. School

Facilitator:           Mr Tan Tuan Hong 

Attire: PE attire or track pants.

Things to bring:

•                             Personal first aid manual

•                             Writing materials

•                             1 triangular bandage

•                             1 roller bandage (crepe bandage)

 School bag and belongings.

All cadets are to assemble at 2.10pm school foyer to take the one-way bus to Bedok View School. There will be one teacher accompanying the cadets to take the bus. 

All Cadets are to dismiss from Bedok View Sec school. Consent forms have been issued to all parents on Friday, 27 March 2015.

Sat, 28 March: Zone 2 Annual Zone Competition Footdrill Training Session

Dear Parents and Competition cadets

Zone 2 Annual Zone Competition] Footdrill Training Session on 28th March 2015

As part of the Zone Competition Sharing session held previously, Zone 2 Training Department will be organising a Footdrill Training Session for all cadets participating in this year's Zone Competition. Past judges for Footdrill have been invited down to be the trainers for this session.

Details for the training session:

Time: 0900H - 1100H
Venue: St John Headquarters Carpark, 420 Beach Road, S199582
Attire: St John Half Uniform with beret. (school related top)
Scope: Run-through of mark sheet, judges' expectations and instruction on execution of drills

Please note that competition cadets have to find their own transports to SJAB HQ. Consent forms have been issued to cadets on 6 March 2015.

Outdoor Photography session on Tue, 24 March 2015

In line with the Photography workshop, there will be an outdoor photography session for all cadets to practice what they have learnt. 

Below are the details:

Date: Tue, 24 March 2015

Time: 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm

Venue: East Coast Park or Changi Airport Terminal 3 (for wet weather)

*Materials to bring: A small bag containing writing materials, photography booklet, Cap and mineral bottle.

Attire: SJAB tee-shirt/school PE tee-shirt with PE shorts

A two way mini-bus will be bringing cadets back to school by 5.30pm.

Zone 2 NCO Training Course 2014 Passing Out Ceremony
The Zone 2 NCO Training Course 2014 Passing Out Ceremony for both BNCO and ANCO will be held on 21st March 2015 at Anglican High School Tower Hall, from 10am to 1230 pm. Lunch will be provided for the cadets.

The details are as follows:

Time: 10:00am to 12:30pm (Trainees to report by 9:30am)

9:30am - Trainees to report and mark attendance
9:40am - Rehearsal of ceremony for trainees

10:20am - Speech by NCOC 2014 Chairman

*Please note that full results of the course for both BNCO and ANCO will only be released after POC. Parent consent forms have been given on 6 March 2015.

Dear parents and cadets

Postpone of Adult First Aid Examination

SJAB Zone 2 will be conducting Adult First Aid Examination on Sat, 14th March 2015 has been postponed to a later date due to unavailability of venue. 

Date: TO BE Confirmed (tentative 22 March, 29 March, 4 April or 5 April 2015) 

Time: 9.00am to 6.00pm

 Attire:  Corps or Zone T-shirt with Black Track Pants and Covered Toe shoes

 Reporting Location: To be confirmed.

Things to Bring

1. Writing Materials 

2. First Aid Notes (if any) (cadets' own notes)

3. 1 x Crepe Bandage (given to cadets on 10 March)

4. 1 x Triangular Bandage (given to cadets on 10 March)

5. Lunch Money

First Aid Certificate.

Only a short and brief revision will be conducted before the exam. All Corps are expected to conduct their own First Aid lessons in school in preparation for the exam. 

Passing Criteria

1. Minimum of 80% for the Theory Examination

2. Able to tie Arm and Elevation Sling using the Triangular Bandage

3. Able to tie 3 different types of bandages (as assigned by the assessor) using the Crepe Bandage

3. Able to perform CPR with Recovery Position and Conscious Choking

A maximum of 2 attempts each will be allowed for the theory and practical tests.
